That's what I feel like after what I learned yesterday. When I realized that part of the reason poor, poor, poor Roger Bacon of the Ralphs shopping center is so against the tax hike isn't just because his store would get taxed, but all of a sudden the entire office complex that he collects rent from tax-free would incur a tax. No wonder this man is so upset.Bacon has what, $5000 or $10,000 or $20,000 (we don't know because as of a couple days ago he hadn't come clean and filed his "Coalition's" disclosure Form 460 - but don't worry, he may be fined up to $70 for hiding this information) to spend on kicking out one Councilman for trying to get him to pay his fair share of taxes. So how much is he sucking out of the City of Hermosa Beach and it's tax payers every year? If anyone has an idea of what he should be paying, let me know. I'll post it.
He stands to actually have to pay for services he receives from the city for free right now. What a novel concept. Every other non-commercial landlord in this city pays a very small fee PER APARTMENT to the city for the privilege of being a landlord.
Why shouldn't poor, poor, poor Roger? I feel so sorry for him. Oh no, we won't pay more taxes. I'm making so little money from AN ENTIRE SHOPPING CENTER WITH NUMEROUS OFFICES that I can't afford to pay for my fair share of the city's services. ROGER - GIVE ME A BREAK!
And by the way, Roger. If you hadn't sent me that ridiculous unsigned junk mail, I would not be doing any of this. I got your junk mail last Tuesday or Wednesday, and laughed at it. Then I saw the same thing printed in a full page ad in the Easy Reader, and I decided I was sick of slimy greedy special interests screwing up my country and my town. That is when I started investigating and writing. You brought this upon yourself. I really hate junk mail.

Keith Hemstreet it seems most of your information evidently has come from Michael Keegan, who is a pathological liar. I am not against paying for city services, but Michael Keegan attempted to lead the city council into matching license fees with that of Manhattan Beach, even in one of the worst recessions in the history of the United States, with 35 business vacancies on Pacific Coast Highway. Regarding your inquisition of my coalition’s disclosure form 460, this has been filed and disclosed, and I was never fined any penalties. For the public’s information, approximately 50% or more of the contributions collected were from a coalition of businessmen on Pacific Coast Highway. You wrote, “If you hadn't sent me that ridiculous unsigned junk mail, I would not be doing any of this.” Most of the recipients appreciated the honesty and sincerity of the mailer, especially wherein it states that Michael Keegan approves of drinking on the beach at the Sunset Concerts At The Beach and the drunken annual Ironman competition.
Did you know a majority of the Hermosa Beach policemen and firemen do not support Michael Keegan in his re-election bid? Your councilman Michael Keegan, who lives in Hermosa Beach, is the councilman for Hermosa Beach, has never opened a business in Hermosa Beach; he opened businesses in Manhattan Beach, Torrance/Lomita, Westwood, Pasadena, Northridge, and two licensed locations at LAX. All of these locations, except Manhattan Beach, have been closed. Why not Hermosa Beach? He should show some sort of patriotism for his city.
Michael Keegan has brought 51 Pacific Coast Highway Hermosa Beach businessmen together who vehemently dislike this “no businessman” Michael Keegan and want to see him removed from office; either by this election or a recall.
This blog has evidently been fostered and directed by Michael Keegan. Michael Keegan how low can you get? To supposedly have people write for you and the information is completely bias by you and generally not accurate.
Michael Keegan’s reported on his form 601 that he loaned $5,261.13 of his own money to his re-election campaign and has collected in the most recent report period $2,861.00 from his constituents. Keegan, Bacon beat you again! I have collected $3,900.00 from businessmen who want you out.
“Kick Hermosa Beach Councilman Michael Keegan out and back to Chicago!”
I am very glad to hear that you have filed your Form 460. You did not file it on time, or so I was told by the City Clerk's Office, and you should have been fined. In these tough economic times, it doesn't seem that the city should be waiving fines on wealthy scofflaws. Every person who is ticketed on street sweeping day or because of an expired meter has to pay, why not you?
As for this being instigated by Michael Keegan, it was not. I have never met him, though I did contact him to ask why your mysterious "Coalition" hated him so much. After the election I plan go to his bakery to try some of his bread.
I don't like bullies, and I don't like slimy politics. That is why I am doing this. If you had the courage to send that junk mailer out in your own name, just as Jim Lissner sent out his own information a couple years ago, I would never have gotten involved.
And now, after lunch, I am going to the City Clerk's office to get a copy of your Form 460.
Roger Bacon is an aggressive dick.
When Roger Bacon dies I will be amongst the first in line to piss on his grave.
